Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as the label's the first artist of female gender on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her debut EP Pho. This was the moment that she received recognition. Her debut studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. In 2014 she continued to release her music on the internet, including her self launched single Bound. The 21st day of July, the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes song"Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her submit her tracks to the Dreamville Team later that year because he was hoping for Rihanna to work alongside her on some of the songs. On the 8th of December, it was revealed that she had signed to Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016 her debut EP was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act on behalf of J. Cole on his track Change in 2017 and also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus with Bas and her labelmates. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The first single, Whipped Cream, from the album dropped on September 5, 2018 with an accompanying music video. On the 9th of November she dropped two more singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, No One or Pedigree. She then appeared in the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single on February 26 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. The track was accompanied by an accompanying music video that debuted that was released on February 20, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube in the first week. In December of 2018, she was an opening act for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour in conjunction with 6LACK.

Ky-Mani Marley one of the most well-known and wealthy Reggae singers was born on February 26, 1976 in Falmouth Jamaica. He sang in Shottas along with another artist Wyclef. Ky-Mani was signed to Shang Records for his 1996 debut Like Father Like Son album and singles like Judge Not (with Patra), Dear Dad", (which was the most popular song on the British reggae chart) and Who The Cap (remix), Sensimelia and many more contributed to the rising recognition for his new generation reggae music.
